Our Opening Ceremony Posted: 16/03/16

16 March was a very special day for Wren Academy as we held our opening ceremony for our Primary building.

IMG_280016 March was a very special day for Wren Academy as we held our opening ceremony for our Primary building.

We were delighted to have Bishop Rob come to officially open our new building. Many guests, who have contributed to this project including our governors, attended for this special occasion.

We began with a tour of our building and then we had the opportunity to watch our Reception children sing. The children were absolutely fantastic! Acorn class sang ‘Thank you Lord for this New Day’ and Conker class sang ‘Let your light shine’. It was beautiful.

We all gathered around the curtains for the unveiling of our plaque. Bishop Rob made a very moving speech telling the children how special and important they were and they all listened so carefully. He honoured us with a special gift of a cross to hang in our new building. The children created a drum roll as we revealed our new plaque.

I am incredibly proud of the school and what we have achieved, but most of all I am proud of the children. To have such wonderful children attend our school with such supportive families and dedicated staff makes Wren Academy a very special place to be.
