The children’s behaviour was excellent and seeing them enjoy the show was wonderful. Mr Popper adopted a penguin called Captain Cook and kept him in his fridge at home! They soon adopted Greta the penguin as well so that Captain Cook could have a friend to keep him company. They loved having the penguins to look after and Mr popper used to always take him for a walk into the neighbourhood. When Greta and Captain Cook had baby penguins they performed an amazing penguin show full of incredible tricks. It was so popular that everyone loved coming to watch the show!

During the performance, snow came down on top of the whole audience and at the end everyone got up to do a penguin dance. It was such fun!

Soon, all the children have Nativity performances and Carol concerts coming up so this was a great opportunity to look at performance styles and the importance of speaking and singing clearly and loudly. The Year 1 children will also be writing a recount of the event describing their favourite parts in detail.

We all had a wonderful time and are looking forward to our next outing!
