A beautiful Concert Posted: 19/12/16

We were delighted to hold our Year 1 Carol Concert at St Barnabus church and were made to feel so welcome. The children excitedly arrived in their costumes and it was wonderful to see their reaction as they explored the church.

Everyone took their places which was amazing as they had never even been there before! We began with a performance by DaCapo Music Foundation. The trumpet players, trombone players and violinists took to the stage and performed a song while every child sang along with them. It was fantastic to see what the children have learnt in such a short space of time. The story then unfolded where children were dreaming about Santa visiting with presents for all and the children sung ‘Santa Claus is coming to town’. The Angels completed a wonderful ballet dance to ‘The dance of the sugarplum fairies’ from The Nutcracker. The angels wished that the children could remember why we celebrate Christmas. Narrators clearly told the story of Mary and Joseph and their journey to Bethlehem. Songs were sung with such confidence and pride that the audience couldn’t help but cheer and clap. For such young children to use microphones, remember their lines and where to go next was brilliant. Every child knew every song and it was a joy to watch them all perform. A wonderful evening was had by all!
