World Book Week Posted: 7/03/17
What an incredible week we have had! The learning that has been happening all around the school has just been fantastic. Children have been so excited about the authors they have been studying.
In Holly Class children learnt all about Roald Dahl with a focus on Charlie and the chocolate factory. The children had to describe how they would feel if they won the Golden Ticket. They were then handed a real life Wonka Bar!!! Priyena and Nora won the Golden Ticket and were delighted to win the challenge and got to go inside the magical chocolate factory which was created inside the classroom.
In Cherry Class they learnt all about Dr Seuss and incredible rhyming phrases were created and placed on top of the Dr Seuss house which also appeared in the classroom.
In Conker class, fairies and elves crept into Wren in the middle of the night and created a wondrous reading cave full of fairy tale characters! The children couldn’t wait to go inside and read their favourite stories. A huge castle appeared in the role play corner and the children loved acting out being the ‘castle cooks’!
In Acorn class a beanstalk grew and grew and a castle with the terrifying giant appeared! The children’s couldn’t wait to go inside and pretend to be Jack, looking for the golden eggs.
I was amazed by everything that happened in the classrooms and seeing the children so excited has been incredible.
