Outdoor Learning week and football festivals

This week we have been celebrating outdoor learning week. The children have been outside for a range of lessons throughout the week and their enthusiasm has been fantastic. They were using nature to solve multiplication problems, completing chalk art in Reception and learning all about capacity in Year 1. We also had the RSPB charity ‘giving nature a home’ organisation completing workshops with all the children. They were able to find a range of minibeasts and describe their habitat accurately. They were taught how to recognise a range of plants and trees in our local area. It was fascinating!

We have also had our first ever football competition for Year 1 pupils! A fantastic event was organised by Barnet Partnership of School Sport and we were delighted to take a Year 1 team with us. They played superbly showing excellent team work and sportsmanship. We were so excited to win 4 out of 5 matches! However seeing the children cheer each other on, shake hands, keep a positive attitude and support other schools is what really made me feel incredibly proud!
