Year 5 and 6 really enjoyed a Flat Stanley First Aid Workshop in school this week. The children shared much of their existing knowledge about basic first aid as well as life-saving tips, and learnt a wide range of new skills and knowledge. Some of the themes discussed were:

• Who to call in an emergency
• How to keep ourselves safe
• How to respond and help when someone has been injured

The children were very engaged and offered excellent ideas and answers about all of the areas that were covered. They were able to take a special First Aid booklet home with the bonus challenge of teaching their families about some of what they have learnt.
