Birch Class News
Spring Term 2022
During the Spring Term of Year 3, we have been learning about forces and magnets in our Science lessons. We performed an amazing experiment using the magnets where we tested various items, such as tin cans and paper clips, to see which would be magnetic and why this might be. We used teamwork to investigate what would be magnetic and considered what would make our experiment a fair test.
During our Wows and Wellbeing, we linked our wonderful English book, How to train your Dragon, to our Mindfulness Drawing Workshops and created wonderful sketches of Toothless!
Spring Term 2020
For the majority of children we were teaching remotely. This involved a daily English and Maths live lesson as well as one other live lessons focusing on a range of other topics such as French, RE, History, Geography and Science. We also celebrated Wellbeing Wednesday where all children tried to spend the day off the screen focusing on their wellbeing. We are so proud of all families and children for their resilience during this time.
Some wonderful work was completed during this time.
Autumn Term 2020
In Birch Class, we have achieved so much in the autumn term! Our key topic has been the Stone Age. We learned all about what it was like to live in the Stone Age. We have written about a book called Stone Age Boy, in which a boy travels back in time to the Stone Age. Drawing pictures, we made story maps and using actions we created chunks of the book!
During Black History Month, we made art in the style of Jean-Michel Basquiat. Birch Class have become master coders in Computing, debugging algorithms with ease!
In Maths, the children have been using the column method for addition and subtraction, so they are brilliant at exchanging! An important moment for us during the term was celebrating Vision Day. We represented following in God’s footsteps by colouring in yellow footprints.
