Academic Achievement

At Wren Academy we are continually assessing our pupils.  We use a mixture of informal observations and assessment for learning opportunities in lessons.  We keep a detailed track of our pupils’ progress and attainment and keep parents informed of this regularly.

There are also National assessments that have to be made at key times during the primary school phase.

Early Years Foundation Stage Profile

During the Reception year, children are continually assessed and at the end of Reception a judgement is made as to whether they have achieved a good level of development.

Across the areas of Communication and Language, Physical Development, Personal Social and Emotional Development, Literacy, Mathematics, Understanding the World and Expressive Arts and Design, children are awarded levels as to whether or not they have met, exceeded or are emerging at this point.  To achieve their Good Level of Development (GLD), they have to meet their Early Learning Goals in the first five areas of learning.

Wren Academy are in the top 20% and significantly above National for our Early Years, Phonics, Times Tables, Key Stage 1 and SATs results, as you can see from the tables below.

In the table below you can see the percentage of children working at expected age related expectations (EXP). You can also see the children who are working at a greater depth (GD) for their age related expectations.  Obviously Covid has had an imapct on our children, but we are confident that we are closing the gap quickly.

We are delighted with the incredible achievements of our first cohort of Year 6 students.  Despite a challenging couple of years with the impact of Covid, they still managed to achieve outstanding results and we are incredibly proud of them all.
