Year 1 Trip to the Tower of London Posted: 24/03/23
Year One have been learning all about the Great Fire of London. The children visited The Tower of London, to consolidate and support their understanding of why the fire spread so quickly. The children had an action packed day. They saw the last remaining house left from the Great Fire of London. The children also attended an immersive workshop where they were teleported back in time to 1666. The children role played being Thomas Farriner and his family escaping the fire in the bakery. The workshop allowed the children to retrieve facts by answering questions about Samuel Pepys.
Although it was a rainy day this did not dampen the children's spirits as they enjoyed watching the changing of the guards and looking at the crown jewels. We are very thankful for all the parent helpers that came along to help and make the day the success it was.
