Visit from the Bishop of London Posted: 21/12/23

Wren Academy students read from the Bible and led prayers, both for the new Bishop of Edmonton and for our local community and our world.

On Wednesday 20 December we welcomed the Bishop of London, The Rt Revd and Rt Hon Dame Sarah Mullally, and a number of guests to Wren Academy Finchley for a service to announce the appointment of the new Bishop of Edmonton, Canon Andersen Jeremiah. A number of Primary students attended the service in the Assembly Hall, alongside Secondary and Sixth Form students.

The service began with an introduction by our Secondary principal, Mr Keohane. The Bishop of London, Sarah Mullally, said a few words before announcing the appointment of the new Bishop of Edmonton. Canon Andersen Jeremiah then provided great responses to questions that were posed to him by two of our Sixth Form students.

During the service, Wren Academy students read from the Bible and led prayers, both for the new Bishop of Edmonton and for our local community and our world. Two of our Year 6 students read out prayers that they had written for the occasion. The service ended with a fantastic performance of the Micah song by students representing the Primary phase.
