World Book Day Posted: 8/03/24

World Book Day gave all the children the opportunity to continue to develop their passion for books and to promoted the love of reading

This year’s World Book Day was a great success as it gave all the children the opportunity to continue to develop their passion for books and to promoted the love of reading across the Academy. This year’s World Book Days focus was on poetry and all the children enjoyed reading a different poem and also studying a poem in their Literacy lessons.

The Christian Foley workshops were a great success as they were creative, current, and inspiring, he created a wonderful poetry rap with the Year 2 children. The reading relay was enjoyed by all with the teachers, Miss Raddon and some Year 12 students reading different poems to the children. The Year 12 students were very impressed with the poems that the Year 6's had written and performed to them.

Finally, we would like to thank you for donating books to our Book shop which was a huge success and also for dressing the children up in their favourite book character this made the day even more memorable for the children.
