Year 6 RAF Museum Posted: 22/03/24
Year 6 had a wonderful time at the RAF Museum to learn more about our Humanities topic: World War II.
The children took part in an informative and exhilarating workshop which was led by an Air Raid Warden who taught us how to prepare for air raids. She showed us how to put gas masks on, helped us to use blackout curtains, showed us what foods we could eat during rationing and finally how to respond to an air raid alarm! We were led to an air raid shelter and a brave volunteer checked to see if all was clear when the air raid alarm stopped.
We then learnt about people's roles during the war, particularly the roles of those in the RAF, we even got to wear genuine RAF uniforms. Year 6 had a fantastic time and learned so many interesting facts from this trip.
