Year 4 Trip to West Stow Village Posted: 26/04/24

we were able to analyse some wonderful artefacts from this time!

Year 4 had the amazing opportunity to have a trip to an Anglo-Saxon settlement!

The children got to see what the different homes would have looked like back then and how people would have lived.  We saw many homes such as an ordinary every day home, a farmers house, town hall and textile home.  All of the children thoroughly enjoyed being able to step foot inside them and have a look at how different life was back then. Additionally, we were able to analyse some wonderful artefacts from this time!  The children used their inference skills to determine what each artefact was used for and who would have used it.

To top off the day, we walked through their museum, engrossing ourselves in more knowledge and getting a hands on experience with an Anglo-Saxon helmet!
