Harvest Festival Posted: 25/10/24

We gathered for our Harvest Festival services to celebrate the good food and other provisions that we have been given, to say thank you to God and to consider what we have and why we are thankful.

HFIn October, we held our annual Primary Harvest Festival services at Christchurch, North Finchley. We gathered for our Harvest Festival services to celebrate the good food and other provisions that we have been given, to say thank you to God and to consider what we have and why we are thankful.

Each year group had been hard at work during the weeks beforehand, practising words and actions for their chosen songs, which they performed with great gusto on the day of their Harvest Festival. Each key stage also sang a whole group song, which they had been practicing during Collective Worship. Alongside the fantastic harvest songs, children also read Bible passages and read out prayers related to harvest, which they had written themselves.

The Revd Dave and the Revd Alex helped us to think about what we have been given and how we should share what we have with other people. Our Bible passage reminded us that we should not worry about what we do not have, but we should instead put our trust in God to provide for our needs.

We are very grateful to the Revd Dave and the Revd Alex for hosting us and sharing with us. We are looking forward to our next service at Christchurch.
