Year 1 had an amazing day immersing themselves in our Knights and Castles Workshop.

We travelled back in time and met Queen Elizabeth I, who taught us about the different types of castles that were built when the Normans invaded.  In addition, we learnt about jousting and had the opportunity to work in teams to play our own child friendly version, so no people or horses were harmed in the process!

We also had the opportunity to handle some real knight’s armour and dress up as some of the people who would have lived or worked inside the castle, from brave knights to Royal Cupbearers.

It was such an incredible day and a fabulous way to enrich and consolidate all the learning we have been doing in class about the Normans.
