Welcome to the Wren Academy primary phase website.
Since opening in 2015, progress has been rapid and remarkable, with our students enjoying considerable success and attaining excellent outcomes by the end of Early Years, Phonics screening, End of Key Stage 1 (KS1) assessments, Year 4 times tables tests and Year 6 SATS results. We have received an outstanding SIAMs report and are well known for an innovative and inspiring approach to teaching and learning.
We opened our primary phase of Wren Academy in September 2015. Following on from the successful and outstanding secondary school, we are offering primary children an exciting and unique opportunity. By creating an all through school we are helping smooth children’s transition from primary to secondary education and develop their overall experience of school life. We are delighted that all 60 children from Wren primary, transitioned happily into Wren secondary last year. Being an all through school enables us to provide excellent opportunities for our children by using our specialist teachers, wonderful facilities and understanding of the children, to support them in making incredible progress throughout their education. I am passionate about providing an outstanding education for all children and completely committed to ensuring your child reaches their full potential in a nurturing, creative and safe environment, rooted in Christian values. Our success is underpinned by a close and inclusive community with a strong Christian vision. We are a community shaped by the Bible verse:
Do justice, love kindness, walk humbly with you God - Micah 6v8
As a school, we invite children and staff to grow into people who show justice and kindness, and know what it means to walk with God, so they can live life in all its fullness. The Biblical account of the encounter between Jesus and Zacchaeus inspires us to build a community where change is possible and everybody matters. It is important to us that all children make the best progress possible, regardless of their academic starting point and this is reflected by exceptional academic success. The social and spiritual dimension to education matters as much to us as academic achievement. We want our students to be happy, well informed and secure, so that they can choose wisely and build meaningful relationships. The relationships between staff and students, and between students themselves, are excellent. Students look after each other and support one another in their learning and the teachers genuinely care about all the children in their care.
The news and events section is really important to inform you of upcoming events, class news and updated photos of Wren Academy school life. There is a lovely section for the children to access information, as well as links to help them with their learning. For parents, I will upload all curriculum evening presentations and any important letters that we have sent out for you to refer to. If you are a prospective parent, please look at our Primary Tour section to find out more.
If there is anything you cannot find on the website, or you would like to get in contact with me please email primary@wrenacademy.org
