Headteacher's Blog

As a school, we have been developing our range of community links and finding ways that we can support others.  Our first adventure was in Hampstead Heath, supporting the Heath Hands project!  

At Wren, we strongly believe that teaching the children key skills about ‘how to learn’ is key to our academic success. In every classroom we have BLP assessment ladders where we can judge how well we are using our learning powers such as collaboration, perseverance, and listening.

We are really proud of the range of activities we provide for children even though we only have three year groups currently in the primary phase.  

We have had such a busy term so far and enjoyed a range of Focus Days.  After our successful BLP number day, we organised our investigative Science day.  The children got to complete a range of investigations throughout the day and practise making predictions and conclusions about what they had learned.

We had an incredible day completing a range of activities on Monday 6 February. We focused on what learning powers could help us to solve a range of problems.

After a wonderful Christmas fair, nativity performances and Carol concerts we continued our celebrations with our Christmas lunch. The children were so excited  to see the hall all decorated and couldn’t wait to pull their crackers.

This half term, the value we have been learning about is Compassion and every child and parent in the school has blown me away with the compassion and generosity they have shown.  

We had the most beautiful harvest festival assembly this morning. Staff and parents were brought to tears by the stunning performances from all the children.

It has been a fantastic start to the new year with al our new children settling in beautifully to their new classes. They have been getting used to the new routines of school and making new friends, which is lovely to watch.
