An exciting term so far
17 March 2016
This term we have held some very exciting events! We began with celebrating book week. This was a great success with many of our children creating the most phenomenal books for our book competition! I was blown away by the standard set. Well done to everyone who entered our competition and for the fantastic costumes seen at our parade.
We held our parents’ evenings and I was so pleased to hear the wonderful comments written on our parent questionnaire. Please click here to read what people are saying about our school. It makes me incredibly proud!
This week we have been celebrating Science week. The children have become scientists and have been mixing things together to see what they can make! We even mixed hair conditioner and flour? What do you think it made?
Funky fingers has been a resounding success this term which we introduced to support children’s handwriting. The children complete a carousel of activities each day to develop their fine motor skills. We use a range of interesting resources for this including shaving foam, Cheerio's, play dough and even marshmallows! The children complete their funky fingers activities to music and love each learning session. From this, the children’s handwriting and letter formation is really improving and I am incredibly proud of their progress!
March 16 marked an important day for us where our building was officially opened by Bishop Rob. It was a beautiful day where many guests who have helped with opening the primary attended. I was incredibly moved by the Bishop Rob’s speech and the children performed songs to our guests which was wonderful. You can read more about it in our News section and see pictures in our image gallery.
The countdown to the rest of our school being completed is on, as the end of May draws closer and closer. The second playground with the trim trail equipment is currently being laid. Most of the scaffolding is down as they concentrate on completing the inside of the building. I cannot wait for it to be finished!
