The Countdown is on!

26 April 2016

The building is getting closer and closer to completion. Hopefully after the half term holiday we will be able visit the rest of our wonderful new school.

I am  enjoying looking at furniture and resources again for the children to ensure they can learn in the very best environment.

Offers were sent out to 60 new parents this week so congratulations to those of you who were able to secure a place here at Wren. I am currently putting together all the transition arrangements for you to ensure your child has an excellent start to their school life. Look out for a pack in the post which should arrive in the next 2 weeks to invite you to various events and to tell you all about our school.

It is so exciting to think we are going to have a whole new year group of children and parents joining us. I just can’t believe how quickly this year has flown. If you are a new parent, and you have any questions do please get in touch but I promise all your questions will soon be answered.

To our current parents and children it is a time to look towards the last term in Reception and the achievements and successes of the year so far. We have go so many exciting events to look forward to such as sports day, bible stories week and arts week. I have employed two new fantastic Year 1 teachers and will be posting their photos and information on the website shortly! You will also have opportunity to meet them in July and of course so will the children.

This half term, we have begun with the topic of ‘Space’ due to the children’s fascination with aliens and space. They are learning the story ‘The man on the moon’ and we have space stations appear in our classrooms! Many children made their very own rockets over the holidays which are absolutely fantastic.

As you know, we prioritise teaching the children to become all round good learners. This half term we will be learning about how to become learning superheroes.

We will be meeting:

Checking Champion – He checks his work carefully

Questioning Queen – She asks sensible questions

Listening and Learning Hero – He listens carefully to everyone

Achieving Iron Man – He is proud of what he does

Collaborating Captain – He works well as a team, taking turns and sharing

Miss Fantastic Focus – She concentrates on her learning really well

Can you be a learning superhero?
