Sports day, our first summer fair and new children visiting
8 July 2016
I cannot believe we are coming to the end of our first year open as a primary. We are ending the year with the children achieving extremely high results in all areas of development as well as in their GLD. We are extremely proud of our teachers who have worked tremendously hard all year as well the children and parents for always being so enthusiastic and supportive.
We have had such a fantastic week this week, with some wonderful events celebrating the year. We began on Monday with our first sports day. The secondary school children and the PE department helped to organise a brilliant range of events for the children to compete in. I cannot thank them enough for their organisation and preparation. The children were split into teams all competing to win house points in an effort to come away with the gigantic trophy! Everyone participated in running races, throwing competitions, obstacle courses and even dressing up races. We all worked hard to show our team spirit and cheered everybody on. Everyone tried their very best and most of all enjoyed every activity thoroughly. In the end Piccadilly(Orange team) were triumphant and they were the team who won the trophy. These points will all be added to the whole school competition to win the house cup. We cannot wait to find out which house will be the overall winners across the primary and secondary phases.

After the sports day, with our spirits high we opened the doors to our first summer fair. For me personally I was incredibly proud to see what we achieved with such a small cohort of children and parents and I cannot thank everyone enough for supporting us. You can find out more information about our summer fair in our news section. This week all of our new children have also been visiting the school in groups. A wonderful atmosphere was created with our current children, showing our new children around their classrooms and playing games with them. It was beautiful to watch.
Over the next couple of weeks we have our new Year 1 teachers visiting, transition meetings, end of year celebration assemblies and our performance in the secondary prize giving. An exciting end of term to look forward to!
